I'm up to Chapter 10 now :) As well as reading the book I'm listening to Mil Nicholson's excellent (LibriVox) narration (http://librivox.org/dombey-and-son-by-charles-dickens/). 2EurydiceAh - thank you for mentioning the LibriVox version! I've also begun Dombey and Son, and should be at about the same point when I leave off, this evening. 4digifish_booksI'm up to Chapter 32 and hooked! There have been some wonderful chapters. Very sentimental and emotional in parts, but excellent reading. 5EurydiceI agree. It's only getting better. I am far behind you, though - at Chapter 16. I was finishing a couple of other books, and too tired to read when I got to that part of the evening, the last few days. But I commend you for recommending the LibriVox recording. It allowed me to listen while doing quiet household tasks.... perfect, until the cat started sitting on the computer. She has a way of always hitting the 'lower volume' button. We'll see if I can't catch up, this weekend. | AboutThis topic is not marked as primarily about any work, author or other topic. Touchstones |
