Is there such a thing as a group that is simultaneously reading and discussing a particular book on LT?
That seems to be about the only thing I haven't found yet on this wonderful venue.
I ask here because there are non-fiction books that would benefit from a steady paced reading; say a chapter a week, and an exchange of impressions with other readers.
Has it been done?
We're doing a number of group reads in the 2010 75 Books Challenge group. Right now they're all fiction books, but anyone can propose a group read. In many cases we're pacing ourselves by reading sections and then discussing them. You're welcome to join us. Most of us in the group are both fiction and nonfiction readers, so you're likely to find some takers.
I've not gone into the Book Challenge threads, as I always have enough stacks to do me.
First, what subject do you want to chew on?
One book that's been on my pile for a month or more is Waste and Want. Anyone interested?
If possible can we chose books that are available on the kindle as well. That is the primary source of my reading pleasures. But sure thing this book sounds cool to me.
Waiting for others to join in.
My copy is on the pile next to the bed.
I'd be game for Waste and Want, if a few other people join up, as well.
I got a third of the way through Waste and Want a few years ago and would be keen to start again (with renewed purpose). So count me in.
Just ordered it 2-day shipping from Amazon - will be here this next Tuesday.
So I suppose I'm in, as well.
