any chance we can get the links to automatically open in new pages/tabs?

What do other people think? We certainly can, but some people like to control that, and from experience i know that if links open in new pages, some users get confused "where the back button is."

As the links are now hardcoded, I don't mind, in fact prefer, middle-clicking (and opening a new tab).

A small inconsistency arises regarding user behaviour as the javascript ISBN links just below require a left click.

I HATE pop ups if I want it in a new window or tab I'll rigth click on the link and do so.

I'd much rather be able to control that.

bleh. ok. I'll conceed. It's just an extra step that seems so unnecessary. I don't want to leave LibraryThing, and I wouldn't mind seeing the result at the outside site and the LT page and comparing them...so it seems more logical to just have it open in a new window. I'm really not talking about a pop-up, just a target blank code.

I'm personally one of those people that hates links from outside sites to open in the same page. If it's an LT link, open in the same page, if it's an outside page, open in a new page/tab. I like having multiple tabs and pages open and reading many things at once and all that greatness.

oh well. nevermind.

Sorry Annabeth. I knew that feeling was out there. Sometimes companies have a little icon for "open in a new window." But I think that's overkill here. Maybe LT could put a check box somewhere to allow users to choose?

:) It's ok...I'm used to being the odd one out, or forgotten all together. :D

Is the checkbox possible? that would be cool. :)

I completely agree with annabethblue. I have been wishing for a new window option. The checkbox would be great!

I agree, I hate sites that open new windows/tabs by default. I much prefer to do it myself, when I choose to, and thanks to Firefox have developed the "middle click" habit.
