I have a pair with train engines that look nice. 2varielleI have a pair of Ottoman Turks sitting cross-legged, shirtless, wearing red "I Dream of Jeannie" pants and pointy gold hats with flaps. Very cool. 3tontine2I have a pair of brass bookends which are open books, with a figure in front drooping down with a pen in its hand. The open pages are headed 1939 and 1940 respectively. The pages are blotted with ink smears. The legend at the base says, The Moving Fingers and having Writ moves on: not all your Piety nor wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all your Tears wash out a word of it. 4AutodafeI collect gargoyle bookends. My favourite set depicts a seated gargoyle, with legs crossed, reading with his / her snout stuck in a book. 5books_ofa_featherHi I'm new to the group. I just got a new set of bookends for Christmas. They're identical gold and white chimpanze bookends. Not the prettiest things to look at, but makes the library look interesting and they are very heavy. | AboutThis topic is not marked as primarily about any work, author or other topic.
