I have a pair of Ottoman Turks sitting cross-legged, shirtless, wearing red "I Dream of Jeannie" pants and pointy gold hats with flaps. Very cool.

I have a pair of brass bookends which are open books, with a figure in front drooping down with a pen in its hand. The open pages are headed 1939 and 1940 respectively. The pages are blotted with ink smears. The legend at the base says, The Moving Fingers and having Writ moves on: not all your Piety nor wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all your Tears wash out a word of it.

I collect gargoyle bookends. My favourite set depicts a seated gargoyle, with legs crossed, reading with his / her snout stuck in a book.

Hi I'm new to the group.

I just got a new set of bookends for Christmas. They're identical gold and white chimpanze bookends. Not the prettiest things to look at, but makes the library look interesting and they are very heavy.

Here's a link to my art deco fox bookend I mentioned on another thread. I thought you bookend people were in need of a little reviving. Unfortunately, my poor fox is a singleton. I sure would like to find his vixen. eta - I will try to get a pic of my Ottoman bookends on soon.

Finally got my Ottoman's uploaded after a great Mac vs. Windows struggle.
