Has anyone read anything on the British space program? I have A Vertical Empire: the History of the UK Rocket and Space Programme, 1950-1971 in my to-read stack. Any other suggestion?

I was doing some web-surfing on the same subject and that seems to be about the best work available.

Amazon just recommended The Black Arrow Rocket: A History of a Satellite Launch Vehicle and Its Engines by Douglas Millard. It's a brief (64 pages) 2002 pamphlet.
