Friends of the Library Sale (March 2 at 08:00am)
The Friends’ annual Used Book Sale is recognized as one of the best events of its kind in the southeast. The sale includes both ex-library books and books donated by the general public. All categories are well-represented and include cookbooks, travel, children’s, fiction, romance, mystery, nonfiction, ... (more)drama, religion, sports and games, and regional. Except for specially priced books, all adult hardback books are $2.00, trade paperbacks are $1.00 and mass market paperbacks are $.50. Hardback children's books are $1.00 and paperbacks $.50. Several factors contribute to our continuing success with this project, our primary fundraiser. We receive excellent publicity and support from our sponsors, who have included the Knoxville News Sentinel and WBIR Channel 10. And nearly one hundred volunteers generously give their time and energy. Our next Annual sale is the first week of March 2009, but you won't need to wait until then to get deals on used books! We have opened a year-round bookshop, Friends@Rothrock Used Books, located in the main branch downtown- Lawson McGhee Library- at 500 West Church Ave. We are open every day of the week, closing half an hour before the library each day. Hope you can come "check us out!"
