Mercer County Library System Hickory Corner Branch, Mercer County Library SystemWeb site: http://webserver.mcl.org/branches/hicbr.html Events: http://webserver.mcl.org/branche… (updated February 14) Amenities: wifi Description: Following its expansion and re-opening in 1997, the Hickory Corner branch was designated as the reference hub of the eastern side of the county. However, it already was – and continues to be – a hive of activity for its community.
A variety of children’s programs are offered on a regular basis, serving youth of all ages from infancy through high school. Various Scout and other young people’s community groups hold their regular meetings in the library’s community rooms. In 2000, the East Windsor Regional School District presented the branch with a “Heart Award” for its outstanding service to local students and faculty.
Many adult groups, with interests ranging from historic preservation to rug hooking, also use the library as their meeting place. In addition, Hickory Corner’s display case is a gathering spot for patrons of all ages, who come to marvel at collections of yo-yos, telegraph insulators, perfume bottles, and much more! Exhibitors have ranged from age 6 to 80-plus -- representing, like the collections themselves, every segment of the community. Added by: geronimo819. Contacted: Yes.
