The owner, Tony Fothergill, joined Spelmans in 1979, and was a partner from 1984-2012. "I am a member of the Council of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association, and Fair Manager of the York National Book Fair, the largest fair of its kind in the U.K. Peter Miller (Ken Spelman 1968 - 2012) is a consultant to the business, Ken Spelman Books Ltd."


40,000 Books, Manuscripts & Documents, contemporary art exhibitions, designer cards, and in winter a real coal fire. We even provide a free gift wrap service ! There is on-street parking right outside our door - a rarity for York!
