Dusty. Smelly. Disorganized. Attracts shady characters. One of the best places in Toronto to find a quick bargain in used books. Among other things, my first copy of Deleuze was purchased here, as were the first three volumes of Herzen's very rare and long out of print Memoirs - the set cost me $10 and I bought the last for a total of $15-20 on Alibris - it was shipped from Ireland. Two of the people who work here are very pleasant and might take the taxes off if you're a frequent customer and pay cash; one is an older gentleman who wears glasses and whom I think manages the store; the other is a candid, brown-haired bearded guy of medium height. But the prices are very reasonable to begin with, and although they are part of/partners with BMV, and often carry similar stock, their titles will often be a dollar less, or even lower, per copy.
