'Shotgun' Event (September 26 at 7:00pm) Minnesota authors Faith Sullivan, Heidi Erdrich, and Shannon Olson will read from and discuss "Riding Shotgun: Women Write about Their Mothers," an anthology, at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, as part of the Northfield Reads! communitywide book club. 'Whistling Wings' Release Party (September 27 at 12:00pm) Laura Goering. River City Books will host a book release party for Laura Goering, author of "Whistling Wings" at noon on Saturday, Sept. 27.
"Whistling Wings" is a children's book written by Goering, a professor of Russian at Carleton College.

Northfield Reads! Book Club: Leif Enger (May 1 at 7:00pm) Leif Enger, author of "Peace Like a River," will appear in Northfield on May 1 as part of the Northfield Reads! community-wide book club.
