Mini-Workshop with Markus Flanagan, author of One Less Bitter Actor (April 22 at 5:00pm)
Markus Flanagan.
How to Take on the Most Negative Industry in a Positive Way Nothing is more frustrating than talent unrealized, and every actor struggles with bitterness when they aren’t working to their full potential. Finally, here’s someone who can give you good advice on the life issues you face while ... (more)becoming a working actor. Successful actor Markus Flanagan has learned that the key to getting work is to stay sane enough to do your best work every time. His free mini-workshop will cover the many misconceptions actors have about their profession that lead them into insecurity and bad choices. Markus is the author of One Less Bitter Actor: The Actor’s Survival Guide, about which actress Carol Burnett has said I wish I had this book when I was swimming upstream at the beginning of my career.Markus has never needed to hold a day job throughout his 20-year acting career. Right out of acting school he starred in Biloxi Blues alongside Matthew Broderick. His first TV pilot audition landed him a series with George Clooney. So far he’s starred in 3 prime-time series, made 50 guest TV show appearances, and acted in 10 feature films, 5 stage plays and 5 movies of the week. He lives and teaches acting in Los Angeles.
