The ground floor is occupied by our New Bookshop, and the other three floors comprise an extensive Childrens Department, eight second-hand book rooms containing upwards of 100.000 titles on most subjects, and two large Rare Book Rooms with a wide and interesting selection of material.Recently an annexe was added to house our considerable stock of Aviation and Military titles. In addition to books,we stock a varied selection of18th-20th C.prints and maps and operate a bookbinding and restoration service. Our stock is added to constantly with new material coming in every week and we are always keen to purchase interesting items from single copies to whole libraries.Distance no object. Southport is a pleasant Victorian seaside town on the North West coast of Lancashire halfway between Liverpool and Preston and with easy access to the rail and motorway networks.

This is my favourite "favourite" book shop.

Broadhurst's carry few, if any, books on the current bestsellers list - no point trying to compete with the buying power of internet and supermarket giants - but they have a great variety of popular works and classics, fiction and non-fiction, new and used. An extensive children's section on the first floor and masses of second-hand and antiquarian volumes above that.

You will always be greeted by pleasant, knowledgeable staff, and most days by an open fire to warm yourself by. It's a rare visit that I don't come away with some gem I never knew I wanted until I found it in Broadhurst's.

Easy to lose yourself in here for a couple of hours exploring room after room over three floors. Helpful pleasant staff and proprietor. New books on the ground floor, secondhand and antiquarian above, sensible prices and well worth a visit as the stock is very wideranging.
