Angele Ellis reads from Arab on Radar.; Sankar Roy reads from poetry.
Angele Ellis is the author of Arab on Radar (Six Gallery Press, 2007) and a recipient of a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts fellowship in poetry. Her poems have appeared in Mizna, Grasslimb, and Pittsburgh City Paper, and are forthcoming in Voices from the Attic, Volume XIV. Sankar Roy is a poet, ... (more)translator, activist and multimedia artist. He is a winner of PEN USA Emerging Voices, author of three chapbooks of poetry. Sankar's poems have appeared or forthcoming in over forty literary journals including Bitter Oleander, Crab Orchard Review, Connecticut Review, Harpur Palate, Icon, Runes, Rhino and Poetry Magazine. His recent project is creating a multimedia website (www.writersalliance.net ) against the genocide in Darfur. The reading will be followed by a poetry open mic.
