Description: The brand-new Main Library for Duval County in Jacksonville, FL! Located in Downtown Jacksonville across from Hemming Park, City Hall, and the Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art, this library features four floors of awesomeness. It has separate sections for children and teens, as well as a special Geneaology Department, the Florida Collection, and the Ansbacher Map Room. It also now includes the "Book-a-Librarian" service, where you can make an appointment with a specialist for an introduction into using the library's tools and resources, or just have them help you with a particular research project.

Women Writing for (a) Change, Jacksonville, will host an Open Mic Night at the Downtown Library during Art Walk on Wednesday, April 1. Join WWf(a)C to hear women writers read their work to the public. All women (and girl) writers are welcome and encouraged to bring their essays, poems, stories, memoirs, articles and book chapters. Four-minute time limit. We will also have a ukulele sing-along! Join us as we raise women’s voices here in Jacksonville, in words and song. Details on our website: www.womenwritingjacksonville.com.
