Weary of the pink slip anxiety and the never ending money squeeze? Take back your financial future by starting a side-gig! Bethesda resident Kimberly Palmer, senior money editor for U.S. News & World Report and author of the popular Alpha Consumer blog, will discuss her new book, The Economy of You: Discover Your Inner Entrepreneur and Recession-Proof Your Life. Tips include how to keep start-up costs low, juggling a fledgling enterprise with a full-time job, branding and marketing for optimum results, and much more. Palmer also penned Generation Earn: The Young Professionals Guide to, Spending, Investing and Giving Back. She has appeared on NBCs Today Show, CNBC, CNN, and local television and radio shows across the country to talk about making smart decisions. She has written for the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and Asahi Shimbun/International Herald Tribune in Tokyo as a Henry Luce Scholar. Copies of Kimberlys book will be for sale and she will autograph them after the event. Refreshments begin at 7:00 pm, followed by the authors talk at 7:30 pm.
