Description: A beautiful gem of a library on Lockport's East Avenue. The historic original building has a grass lawn fenced in by wrought iron and trimmed with flowers and shrubs. The two large reading rooms on the main (second) floor evoke the past with their armchairs and fireplace. The large 1990's addition, which faces Chestnut Street at the back of the building, has allowed the Lockport Library to be the gem of Niagara County and the entire Nioga Library System. Three floors (children's, fiction and nonfiction) provide ample space for reading or study. Wifi and internet connections are available. The children's room has a picture book room with table and chairs, a reference and nonfiction room with tables and chairs and a fireplace, a parent-child lounge and the Orchard Room, which is used for group events such as story times, crafts or family movies.
