Description: Victorian Futures

"The Victorian Futures conference will be held at the University of California, Santa Cruz, beginning at 4:00 pm on Friday, July 29, and concluding at lunchtime on Sunday, July 31.

The conference includes two wonderful keynote speakers, Jay Clayton, Vanderbilt University (author of Charles Dickens in Cyberspace: The Afterlife of the Nineteenth Century in Postmodern Culture) and Andrew Elfenbein, University of Minnesota (author of Romanticism and the Rise of English), and an array of concurrent panels, all dedicated to exploring the theme of Victorian Futures.

Panel topics include The Afterlives of Victorian Fiction, Counterfactual Futures, and Futures for Victorian Studies.
