Welcome to WikiThing.
WikiThing is a wiki, which means that it is an online resource that is open to editing by many users. And by many users, that means YOU.
For help in creating content on WikiThing, please visit Help:Editing. This will explain how to use wiki markup—the special language that has been developed to be much easier to use than HTML. (HTML is the language that most web pages are written in.)
 What is WikiThing for?
Who knows? There are certain things that the LibraryThing staff use the wiki for, which complement the help that is provided on the LibraryThing site: examples are the Staff List and any changeLog pages that staff members may keep on their personal wikiThing pages (as an example, Christopher keeps one here). Beyond that, the general LT community has the freedom to create library related content to link in with the LibraryThing website. Early examples are the bug tracking and book festivals pages. If you've got a good idea, then go ahead and create a new page ... and the whole idea of a wiki is that if your idea is useful (or fun), then you will get other people jumping in to help you. Be warned though: once you have created something on the wiki, it becomes open for anyone to contribute to. There is no ownership of pages in the general namespace: if you want to do something without interference, then please restrict yourself to your User page.
