To find your contacts on Twitter and/or Facebook and connect to them on LibraryThing, go to your "edit profile and account" page and click on "Friend Finder": http://www.librarything.com/editprofile/friendfinder.

[edit] Find Friends by their LibraryThing username, real name, or location

To find a contact who is already on LibraryThing, you can search for his or her username as well as real name and/ or location using Member Search. You can narrow the search by choosing "exact match" or broaden it by choosing "partial match." Note that not all members list their real name and location on their profiles. See further instructions here: HelpThing:Site-wide_search#Social.

If you know someone's username, you can also go directly to his or her profile by using this URL, replacing "MEMBERNAME" with their username:

Once you are on someone's profile, you can add that person to your list of "Friends," "Contacts," "Interesting Libraries," "Private Watch list" or other customized connections list.
