[edit] Overview
Is your library dominated by dead guys? The "Dead or Alive?" page (part of Your Profile Memes) will give you information about the vitality of authors for books in your library.
[edit] Concepts
Birth/death dates are entered by LibraryThing members as part of Common Knowledge on author pages. Any author who has a birth date but no death date listed is automatically considered alive unless that author would be over 100 years old. Corporate entities or other group authors can be marked as "not a person." There's a category for zombie authors, but once you know, it's too late! If you want to know more, check out the Common_Knowledge wiki page or the group Common Knowledge, WikiThing, and HelpThing.
[edit] Features
The "Dead or Alive?" page is fairly simple. Along with a percentage alive, your authors in each category (dead/alive/unknown/not a person/zombie) are listed.
You can click on any name to go to the corresponding author page.

Common Knowledge information is entered by members just like you. You can help improve the listings for others by contributing to Common Knowledge yourself. See the Common_Knowledge wiki page or the group Common Knowledge, WikiThing, and HelpThing for more information on how to help.
