[edit] Creating a Blog Widget with Categories

  1. Sign in to LibraryThing for Libraries.
  2. Go to the Configure tab.
  3. Go to Reviews, and scroll to the bottom of the section.
  4. You're looking for the header Blog Widget.
  5. Click the link that says Click to get blog widgets.
  6. You'll see a blue page with code for two different blog widgets. For the one called Recent reviews from your library, you'll look for the URL at the bottom of the code. It will look like:
    <script src="http://www.librarything.com/forlibraries/reviewswidget.php?library=(your library number)"></script>
  7. You'll want to add &category=(the category name) to the end of the URL:
  8. <script src="http://www.librarything.com/forlibraries/reviewswidget.php?library=(your library number&category=Summer Reading Program"></script>

  9. Copy and paste all of the code (including the modified <script> section) into the HTML of your webpage, where you'd like it to display.

On the Moderation tab of your LTFL account, you'll see Categories showing up in a couple places.

  • Each review will have the option for you to check or uncheck a category.
  • The right-hand navigation bar now shows subsections of the four main categories of reviews. You can still moderate the review from the main category, but if you wanted to view or edit one specific category, you'd be able to see them in one place.
