[edit] More Free Books!

Our Member Giveaway program, introduced last month, has exploded! At any given time, there are hundreds of books available. Member Giveaways is like Early Reviewers, but isn't limited to select publishers--any author or member can post books. Check out the books!

[edit] Popular This Month

Wondering which books are moving up the charts this month? Check out "Popular this Month" on your home page, which shows this month's most popular books. The list avoids perennial favorites, like Harry Potter, by comparing this month to previous months. The top ten right now:

  1. The Associate by John Ray Grisham
  2. Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich
  3. Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell
  4. The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga
  5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  6. Q & A: A Novel by Vikas Swarup
  7. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
  8. Graceling by Kristin Cashore
  9. The Hour I First Believed: A Novel by Wally Lamb
  10. Untamed : A House of Night Novel by P. C. Cast

[edit] Authors

Wouldn't you love to know what your favorite author has in their library, what books inspired them, or what they're reading now? That's the idea behind the LibraryThing Author program—giving readers a window into authors' tastes, and authors a great new way to connect with their readers. We have over 1,800 "LT Authors" on the site now, and we're trying to encourage more to join with a special limited time offer.

Until May 1, authors willing to join up, become LibraryThing Authors and add some books, can get a free CueCat barcode scanner, shipped for free. More details in this blog post. Spread the word to all your author friends!

[edit] Author Chats

Author Chat lets you talk to authors--ask questions, get answers, and find out more about how or why a book is written. The schedule of upcoming chats is posted too, so you can plan to read the author's book ahead of time.

[edit] Haikus

LibraryThing members never cease to amaze and delight me. As we all know, the anticipation of a new feature can turn anyone to poetry, right? So it's no surprise that in wait of the new collections feature, LibraryThing Haikus have come back in full force. Personally, I like:

Developing a Patient attitude makes one a better person. -mkjones
