[edit] acrylic adhesives

Used in most stickers; remove as much of the sticker as possible by hand first

[edit] Recommended

  • Bestine solvent and rubber cement thinner (is heptane)
  • Un-Du (is mostly heptane)
  • lighter fluid (usually contains naphtha, Ronsonol is 100% Naphtha)
  • rub the residue off using a soft eraser - Sanford Magic Rub, art gum, or rubber crepe.

[edit] Other

  • rubbing alcohol
  • Goo-Gone
  • Zoff
  • baby wipes
  • WD40, then scrape lightly

[edit] gum-based adhesives

Used for bookplates and bookseller stickers

  • Can be lifted with water or Stamplift

[edit] rubber cement

  • Once dry, the rubber can be removed with heat or picked off by hand
