Overview

The Members view of a work page only changes the center column. For details on the fields to the left and right side of the page, see the Help for the Main Work page.

Features

This page is pretty much what it appears to be. The top of the central column has a total number of members who own the work, the number of members who have reviewed it, a popularity rank (where 1 is the most popular), an average rating, and a total number of Talk posts which mention the work using touchstones (enclosing the name of the work in brackets.)

Members

Here you can see a list of members who have recently added the work to their Your library collection. If the list is somewhat long, you may see a (show all) link, which you can click to see the full list. Alternately, just click the "all members" link to the right of the Members bar. You can click on any member's name to go to his/her Profile page.

All members who have the book

This section lists the same information as above but sorts the list according to the star rating (if any) each member assigned to the book. Since many members do not rate their books, in most cases the no rating section will show the most names. As in the Members section, if the list is long, a few names may be shown with a (show all) link to see the full list.

Notes and Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find out why someone rated a book that way?

In some cases, you may not know. Members can choose to rate books with stars without reviewing them. In many cases, however, those who rate books also choose to review them. You can go to the work's Member reviews page (using the link from the left column on any Work page) and search for the review by a particular member. For popular books, you may have to read several pages of reviews, but most books do not have too many reviews. Alternately, you can click on any member's name to go to the Profile page, where some explain their ratings system. From there, you can click on the Reviews link near the top of the page to read all of the reviews that person has written and to get a feel for what kinds of books that member may like (or not like) and how his/her taste compares to yours. Of course if you *really* want to know, you can leave a comment on the person's profile and ask!
