Brother Bear in his little red car slowly but surely wins out against the yellow and blue cars in this tortoise-and-hare story. I had mixed feelings about this book after reading it. I liked this book because it was an obvious spin off of the classic fable “The Tortoise and the Hare”. I thought the authors did and awesome job of changing the story so that children in these times can understand the message and plot a little more. The fact that the authors chose cars in the story can grab a lot of children’s attention because it is something they can relate to. The plot was engaging and fast paced to keep readers attention. The one thing I did not like was how it didn’t really incorporate the Berenstain Bears into the story at all, other than the looks of the characters, even though it was a Berenstain Bear’s book! Overall the big idea of the story is to keep trying your best no matter how hard it seems and who says you can’t. no reviews | add a review
