Best Appalachian Trail book there is. It offers so much more than the other "journal-style" AT books out there. You see why Brill is out there, and learn what he finds out about himself. You meet characters and encounter parts of the trail and towns. Brill's writing conveys the significance of the journey.Unlike Mr. Bryson, Brill hiked not to write a book, but because he loves the experience. He also finished the trail. ( )
