Here's what I wrote in 2008 about this read: "A current, simple American read. Sisters with problems, working through them, great grandmother, family & love prevails. Was made into a movie as well." ( )

Based on the beginning, I didn’t think I was going to like it, but it surprised me multiple times and I enjoyed it. ( )

A relationship story with more depth than most. Totally understood Rose the serious lawyer, liked finding out the thinking of the free spirit sister Maggie, took awhile to figure out the importance of the senior citizens. I liked how all of their lives grew and changed especially where it started with college life for Maggie and what was Ella's role in the story. Good theme of how important sisters and having a family are to life. ( )
