Milkrun is probably much more traditional (if there is such a thing in chick lit) than her later books, but it's still a very good book. I read it in one sitting. ( )Boston transplant Jackie spends her days editing steamy love scenes for romance publisher Cupid -- but can't quite hit a romantic stride in her own life. After her college sweetheart Jeremy unexpectedly leaves for Thailand in order to "find himself" and tells her that she should probably see other people, Jackie picks herself up, spends far too much time at local bars with pseudo-friend Natalie and goes on a little journey for self-discovery of her own. I started out really liking this book, then started getting a bit annoyed by it in the middle, but ultimately really, really liked Jackie's character! I thought the dialogue was believable, enjoyed Jackie's obsessing and constant questioning of whether or not every man who crosses into her path is "the one." Yes, we've seen most of this plotline before, but I still enjoyed it for what it was -- a frothy look at a twenty-something trying to make her way in the world. Read it quickly! Readers who like chick lit and "adventures in dating" stories will probably enjoy Mlynowski's fun novel. A twenty-something in Boston tries to figure out life and love after her boyfriend leaves her to find himself in Boston. Average. Chick-lit at its chick-littiest, Milkrun is formulaic and uninspired. However, if you are looking for a book about a woman who gets her heart broken and then learns to love herself in the aftermath through a series of uninspiring cliches, then this is probably a book you'll want to read. This a story about a 24 year old woman living and working in Boston, and the trials and tribulations she goes through in her lovelife, career, friendships and with her family. The main character is likable and I think alot of women can relate to her. I liked it, some parts were a little predictable but all in all a good read. no reviews | add a review

Of all the ways to find myself Single Again, this has to be the worst. A "Dear Jackie" e-mail from my supposed boyfriend, who claimed to be "finding himself" in Thailand. Instead, he's found someone else. And dumped me.
But I, Jackie Norris, will bounce back! I will become Crazy Dating Girl and prove to Jilting Jeremy that I am over him! One snag: Why do all the guys I meet either have groping hands, lunatic tendencies or a worrying interest in putting up shelves? I need a man who wants to rip my clothes off, feed me pizza, then have stimulating, intelligent conversation.
Single in Boston -- c'mon there has to be someone!
Hip and Hilarious, Milkrun is a must-read for anyone who longs for the express -- but is stuck on the local . . .
