I just bought World War Z on my Kindle. Wooo Hoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read World War Z last winter and loved it, but the rest shall be added to my list. Thanks everyone, keep em coming!

... ook Nature's Design--Carole A. Smyser Father of the Bride--Edward Streeter Lisey's Story--Stephen King World War Z--Max Brooks

For # 29: scaifea- I also loved World War Z. I'm not sure where this writer came from but boy did he do a great job! I just finished Skeletons at the Feast. It was a good book. Bohjalian is a fine storyteller. The premise was fresh and interesting but I don't think he's a strong writer. S ...

I've just finished World War Z - I'm a big fan of zombies, and this book has a really cool outlook on the subject. I highly recommend it to horror fans. I'm still working through: The Complete Poems and Songs of Robert Burns Just So Stories Uncle Tom's Cabin and I'll start Fluke ...

I just finished World War Z Very cool - I enjoyed it immensely. Now off to start Fluke as part of my Christopher Moore bibliography reading list.

46. World War Z by Max Brooks (I read this one because my best friend told me I *had* to.) I loved this book. I'm a big fan of zombies anyway, but the format of the book is very cool (written account of interviews with various witnesses to the 'zombie war' some 10-odd years after the ...

#107 WillSteed - I loved World War Z and hated to see it end. I went to the website and took the Zombie Survival Quiz. It turns out that I might make it, but where I live is definitely a drawback to my survival :) #108 Blue - I thought the same thing! It made me want to ration my food and ...

I'm currently reading: World War Z (I'm reading this because my BFF told me I absolutely *had* to.) Uncle Tom's Cabin (from my Banned Books reading list) The Poems and Songs of Robert Burns (library book) Confessor (my current audiobook) The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ...

107 WillSteed I haven't had that reaction to World War Z (yet?) but I had a similar reaction to Life as we knew it. When I finished it, I wanted to go buy lots of bottled water and canned goods. And then curl up under the covers and hide...

... so far! I shall plough on for a bit with it. Probably doesn't help that I also can't read latin. Next up is probably world war z - I bought it for my husband earlier this year and he reckons it's fab.

If it helps, I'm reading World War Z, so I'm dreaming about zombies, escape plans and apocalypse.

(I hope golden can link to gold!) Raiders and Rebels: A History of the Golden Age of Piracy by Frank Sherry World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks The Complete Idiot's Guide to Pirates by Gail Selinger Under the Black Flag ...

I'm working on finishing Brave New World, The Zombie Survival Guide (same author as World War Z, but I still need to read that), and Physics for Entertainment. I've been working on them for some time and I'd like to finish them. (No, I don't read slowly... just in very small increments.)

# 95: scaifea, I read World War Z a couple months ago and thoroughly loved it! I hope you enjoy it as much!

#82 Will: I'm off to start World War Z myself - I'm pretty excited about it. But, at the rate I read (v. slowly these days), you'll be finished long before me, I'm sure. Oh, and I just finished Stardust, which is, of course, wonderful.

... - what a lovely read. Not as good as his Sandman stuff, but then nothing ever could be, IMO. Now I'm off to start World War Z, since my BFF says that I *have* to read it.

I'm almost finished Adulthood Rites and I've started World War Z - Eek! It's living up to its reputation. It's scary and realistic (even with zombies!) and it's a proper 'world-wide' thing, not just a 'world-wide but let's just look at the author's country' type thing. I'm enjoying it, but I'm ...

I met a friend at a bookstore on Tuesday and I got The Enchantress of Florence, Getting Things Done, and World War Z (don't tell my sister, but the last one will be a gift for her after I finish it).

World War Z was great, IMHO! Once you get done with that, there's always The Zombie Survival Guide by the same guy. You never know when it might come in handy...

... the order in, after Amazon crashed IE about 5 times). Anyway... I got An Introduction to the Gothic Language and World War Z (Scaifea - snap! I got it because I've read so many good reviews). My Yiddish tutor book from Powells should be arriving any day now. I think it'll end up at ...

In the mail today: American Gods for my Gaiman collection and World War Z, because my best friend keeps telling me that I *need* to read it.

In the mail today: American Gods, for my Gaiman collection and World War Z, because my best friend keeps telling me that I *need* to read it.

... one of those people who's cringed as they've read the list—so much Tolkien mentioned, I love Palahniuk, and Jane Eyre, World War Z, and The English Patient are some of my favorite books.

... some less than great works have been enhanced by great readers. An example of the latter, to my way of thinking is World War Z, by Max Brooks. Since I'm not much of a science fiction buff, took out the audio for curiosity sake, after reading lots of good stuff about it on LT. I ...

... Wilde The Book Thief by Markus Zusak The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury World War Z by Max Brooks The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald The Redwall series, mostly Redwall and Taggerung

I am going to check out World War Z - it sounds interesting!

I also recently read World War Z and it definitely sounds like it would be interesting to actually hear an "oral history". Was there an entire cast so that each character sounded different, or was it one or two readers doing multiple voices?

I really liked World War Z, but read it rather than listened to it. The audiobook sounds interesting, so I'll have to dig it up. Jane Eyre is a favorite of mine, and if you want to have some fun with it, try The Eyre Affair. I'm looking forward to your take on Hollow Chocolate Bunnies. It ...

... list: The Book Thief How to Read Literature Like a Professor The Inimitable Jeeves Chocolat Four Queens World War Z Jane Eyre Let's see, with six of those books being finished in June, if I kept up the rate of six or seven books a month, I could actually reach my goal! I ...

The book count is now up to 19, as I recently finished World War Z. It's a wonderful book. I actually listened to the audiobook, but since it's a collection of interviews with people who took part in a zombie war, it seemed a little more personal. Plus, the pace kept up and each interview was ...

I finished World War Z in audiobook format last week. Absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend the audiobook, since the book is a collection of interviews about the zombie war. Listening to it made it seem a little more personal, and it kept the pace going.

I just finished World War Z by Max Brooks in audiobook format. It was wonderful! A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole is very good as an audiobook.

GeorgiaDawn: I love World War Z, too! I bought the audiobook specifically because it was subtitled "An Oral History of the Zombie War." If these are voice interviews, why not listen to them? I found the narratives fascinating, although I wasn't crazy about Max Brooks himself. He was a little too ...

#66 SpiraledStar - What do think of World War Z? I just finished the audiobook and loved it! I hated to see it end. I'm currently reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I should finish it tonight and I have no idea what I'll start next. I'm searching for a book that is amazing, one ...

... reading The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse and Smoke and Mirrors. I'm listening to the audiobook of World War Z, which I'm close to finishing. All three books are fantastic so far, although each one is completely different.

SpiraledStar in Book talk : Audio books (Jun 29, 2008, 1:02am)

I like listening to audiobooks during road trips. One that I absolutely loved was World War Z. It's a collection of interviews with survivors of the Zombie War, so hearing it read aloud made it more personal - it's an interview, why not hear it? The variety of readers was fantastic, giving it ...

... I loved Nightfall! I read it several years ago and decided to read it again. I was not disappointed. I really liked World War Z. I would recommend the book and the audio version. The audio version is read by author Max Brooks, Carl Reiner, Alan Alda, Mark Hamill, Henry Rollins, John Tur ...

World War Z on my Mp3 player

#57, GeorgiaDawn: I know zilch about audio, but World War Z is a knock-out novel, more fun than any real zombie deserves.

In addition to the books I mentioned above, I started listening to World War Z by Max Brooks this morning. This audio version is amazing! The readers include Max Brooks, Carl Reiner, Alan Alda, Mark Hamill, Henry Rollins, John Turturro, Rob Reiner, and a few others not listed on the ...

I'm listening to World War Z by Max Brooks and it's amazing! The readers include Max Brooks, Carl Reiner, Alan Alda, Mark Hamill, Henry Rollins, John Turturro, Rob Reiner, and a few others not listed on the description. This is one of my free downloads from my public library. Yay! Thanks ...

29. World War Z by Max Brooks - After a zombie uprising that leads to a ten-year struggle between humans and zombies, a journalist is sent around the globe to conduct interviews and put together a report based on the events of World War Z. This book, told through the talking-head-style ...

I was just going to suggest World War Z when I saw you had already read it. It's at the top of my TBR pile but the browse in the bookstore has me confident enough to recommend it unread. So instead I will recommend Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvust. A young, bullied schoolboy ...

33) World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks--I'm not really sure what prompted me to read this book, since I have pretty much no interest in zombies and have never even watched a proper zombie movie (I'm not counting "28 Days Later" because those weren't really zombies). It ...

... Meyer In The Wake by Per Petterson The Secret of Lost Things by Sheridan Hay The Lying Tongue by Andrew Wilson World War Z by Max Brooks On Monday I also got The Vampyre by Tom Holland and there have been a couple of others in May too.

I thought this would be a good place to ask the question has anyone read...x I will start it out. Has anyone read World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks? I am thinking of trying out the sample and was wondering if anyone here had read it. It got good reviews and ...

... humor anyways. I know Max Brooks is the son of Mel but this book is not for humor. I was told I should read this one before World War Z, which I already have.

14.Max Brooks-World War Z This book is set up as a series of interviews with the survivors of the zombie war. It was cleverly written and an easy read, but because of the format there was no tension. Everyone being interviewed obviously survived. The author must have done a lot ofresearch ...

I really didn't enjoy World War Z I really thought I would, but nope. It didn't appeal to me at all. I think it just didn't seem like a coherent story to me jumping all around the globe like it did.

I started World War Z by Max Brooks, but then I remembered that I stopped halfway through Eifelheim and got back to that. I was sick last week, and Eifelhiem was a bit dense, so I switched to a more mindless mystery. Whenever I stop in the middle of a book, I find it hard to get back to ...

#4 Oh, Batman: Year One is a GREAT one. Loved it! #3 I love that you call your friend Nosferatu! #1 World War Z is a very engrossing read. My friend lent her advanced reading copy to me, and I could not put it down from beginning to end. Excellent. I love what y'all are buying for ...

Just wanted to let you know Cell and World War Z were both great, but I would start with Cell. It's a bit more exciting - Z reads more like an apocalyptic Dateline. :)

... in their online installments! It was quite AN EXCRUTIATING WAIT for each Chapter, LOL. I'll have to check out World War Z sometime, I love a good Zombie story!

How's about a helping of Mad Max to go with that? :D I have heard that World War Z is really cool. I'll pick that up sometime.

I haven't yet bought World War Z, but I've uploaded the audio book to my iPod. I haven't listened to it yet, but it looks like an audio book done right. I like that they hired respectible actors to do the different 'interviews'. Tell me what you think of Cell. It wasn't what I thought it ...

I haven't read much the past month or so, but I have two that definitely made the top 5 this quarter: World War Z by Max Brooks How I live now by Meg Rosoff I'll add more as they come up. :) Happy reading in December, everyone!

World War Z does have some nice, spooky moments in its journalist-interview style, and it's a fun read. That said, Max's first book, The Zombie Survival Guide is both funny and thought-provoking, with moments during which you may be reading and say, "Aha! Of course! It all makes sense!" ...

Another vote, deargreenplace, for The Road. How about World War Z by Max Brooks?

Ooooo, World War Z was good. Now you have to get The Zombie Survival Guide and you'll be ready for the outbreak when it happens... I just finished (and enjoyed) 13 Bullets by the guy who wrote Monster Nation, so I'd be interested in hearing your opinion of his zombie stuff.

Speaking of Zombies, I picked up Monster Nation and World War Z yesterday.

A thumbs up for World War Z ... and a bit of trivia: Turns out that Max Brooks is actually Mel Brooks' son!

I'd say Zombie books count. I've been meaning to pick up World War Z...

5. World War Z: an Oral History of the Zombie War, by Max Brooks - Excellent read - can't recommend highly enough.
