Work detailsEverlost by Neal Shusterman (2006)
Interesting premise, bit of a let down in execution. The story just didn't spark for me although it was interesting at points. Confession: I picked this up not because I was interested in the story but because Nick Podehl narrates. He didn't disappoint; neither did the book. Not sure I'll pick up the rest of the series, but I really enjoyed this. This was a useless review; sorry. Everlost is a very good book. It's about a boy and a girl (Nick and Allie) who get in a car accident then end up flying off course to a world between life and death. A sort of limbo called Everlost. Nick and Allie soon find people who start to become friends, there are enemies made and a love connection. The kids soon learn about the dangers Everlost brings and everything that goes on. Nick and Allie get into bad situations throughout the book and they soon recover from them in the most clever ways. But the biggest mystery is uncovered at the end and it is a big one and a good one. Over all Everlost is a read and read again. An extremely inventive story! Everlost is the world between life and death and only children populate it. Allie and Nick die in a car crash and bump each other out of their tunnel to the light. They meet Leif and learn about Everlost. This is a story of friendship above all else and it is a wonderfully written story.
Book was great!!! I loved it!!! Skin jacking and all the other things in the book literally had me holding my breath. Suprising ending had me "woWed"! But, like stated before, it isnt as political as unwind. This book is soooooo worth reading!!!!!

Woah. That was awesome. Nick and Allie are both in cars and accidentally crash into each other.
They see this tunnel with a light at the end of it, but don't go in. And then, they wake up in a forest and find out its been nine months. And then, they find out if they step on land, they will sink to the center of the Earth.
The characters were very interesting. I like the different viewpoints. I could relate with the characters.
The setting was well written, as was the dialogue.
The plots of all the books seemed reasonable.
I was a little confused and bored throughout the novels, but otherwise, the series was great.
