The Venetian Mask ... by V. V. Ganeshananthan, my early reviewer book. I enjoyed it *much* more than my previous early reviewer book, The Venetian Mask, so I'm very grateful about that. I also learned about Sri Lanka, which was neat.
Then I set about doing rereads - #87 was Squire by Tamora Pierce ... I finished The Venetian Mask. I need to write a full review as it was an ARC, but for now I'll say that overall, it was a three star book. I found it entertaining, but the characters left a bit to be desired: Pure-as-the driven-snow orphans, Marietta and Elena, with extraordinary musical talent, ... I just gave up on an ER book for the first time (in this case it was The Venetian Mask). I'm pretty restrained with my requests, really thinking about if it's something I would find interesting, so I don't think I need to be more selective about which books I choose. Some books just sound better ... ... I read it at book club next week. Don't tell my book club buddies I didn't really read it :) Next I will read my ER book Venetian Mask. THIS HAS BEEN CLAIMED. THANKS FOR THE INTEREST! The Venetian Mask was a March ER book, but a reprint, so you can maybe find it used. The book was less than fantastic, but I get the feeling that the author did her research about late 18th-century Venice. Finished and reviewed my ER book The Venetian Mask, I'm now reading Queen of Shadows while I await my book club book from Amazon, my April ER book, and the two books I'm reviewing for ReaderViews. The last few days I've been carrying around (and generally not reading) The Venetian Mask by Rosalind Laker. I just can't seem to get into it....the writing is horrible, the plot unrealistic and nothing like either the ER write up or the synopsis on the back cover (at least there is no ... 24. The Venetian Mask by Rosalind Laker review to come. ... Jodi Picoult's latest, Change of Heart. It is not her best work, in my opinion.
Now I'm reading my March ER book Venetian Mask. I'm not super far, but it seems like it will be a quick read, so long as I can carve some time out for it. ... I know, it's rude, and probably really bad for my grades. But at least the book was good!
