This book was short, sweet and to the point. I thought it was really cute however it could definitely have a little more added to it. The illustrations were nice as well. Any student wanted to read poetry could easily read this book. ( )

A great short poem that younger students could read and start to understand. I believe it about going through the day from getting up in the morning to bedtime. It's the experiences they have during the day. The pictures are great display to get the idea of the poem across to young children. It is separating the sentences to make the readers think about what is coming next. ( )

This book is about a family of squirrels who play together all day and night, never leaving each other’s sight. It was a very, very short night read and wasn’t interesting to me. I actually found myself ready not it two more times just to get some meaning out of it. Not the best poem I’ve read. ( )

Last Song is a poem about the sun, the moon, and the stars wherever they are. But the illustrations of the book tell another story. The illustrations tell the story of a squirrel family living in a tree. The squirrel family plays in the sun, return home when the moon does, and sleeps beneath the stars together in their tree home.Like many other of Eric Rohmann's illustrations the illustrations give the story a deeper meaning and the reader and deeper understanding.
