In Three by the Sea, the lives of three roommates, content in their household roles, are turned upside down when a stranger shows up at their door and starts causing trouble. After an argument about the way that each is performing their chores, Mouse packs his things and leaves, only to be eventually saved by both Cat and Dog when he becomes swept out to Sea. This book focuses on friendship, the art of compromise, and learning to work together in a way that is beneficial for all. The artwork is fun and engaging, and I really liked that the illustrator focused on such details as distinguishing the characters dialogue for the reader during the argument, by making sure that the words were encased in a colored word bubble that was based on the color of their fur. the art in this book is very cool, a lot of detail in the paint pealing and little things. the story warns children to be happy with what they have because even if we do not realize it, we are very happy!

This is a story about 3 friends, a dog, a cat, and a mouse. They all live together by the ocean in a small house, each has their own chores and seem to be fairly happy till a traveling fox comes along and told them they were the lucky winners of a visit from the WINDS OF CHANGE TRADING COMPANY - They were told this was free so they allowed him to stay. They gave up there bed for the stranger and feed him. The fox whispered in each one of the friends ears of how the others where not pulling their weight in their home. This cause the friend to fight and go separate ways. Due to tragedy they became reunited and had a new respect for each other and with this became friends again valuing each other more than ever, and lived happily ever after. Great Illustrations and a educational inspiration for art and social engagement, this would help younger children in being more accepting, and value their friends. ( )

I loved this adventure story of friendship between three animals! This book also explores how to work together and to get along with friends. I think this would be a good book to have in a class library for younger elementary students. ( )

In this book there are three friends, dog cat mouse. They live in a beach hut by the sea and have a great time. But one night a mysterious stranger comes along with gifts. But that soon starts to affect their friendship and they start fighting with each other. The question is is a stranger good or bad? This was a good book, but wasn't a favorite. I think it would be good for kids that like adventure and surprises.
