Not as good as his history of Near East, but still decent.

Not as Eurocentric as some would have it, but it certainly written from a European perspective. Whether this is because of Mr. Van De Mieroop's prejudices or because of scarcity of written sources from African areas neighbouring Egypt, is anyone's guess. ( )
