I'm shocked to see I only read 4 books this month. Hmmm. Well, my favorite was easily Terry Pratchett's Witches Abroad. Giggled the whole way through it, and was thrilled when it took a decidedly Cajun turn.

The answer is YES to Witches abroad and an ...eeh... maybe to The amazing Maurice and his rodents. I think his humour can best be described as "british", and not everyone enjoys that.

Witches Abroad is a good witchy/fairy story one... but Guards Guards is probably the Pratchett book that I'd recommend to anyone who has never read any Discworld stuff before, mainly because it was the first one recommended to me, and certainly captured my interested.
