Going Postal by Terry Pratchett, I never tire of that story and of course The Truth by him is also great. The books are a fun read the first time and then the second and third time you start to understand his humor. Oh and Small Gods... I will stop at this point. My son is a fan of Rincewin ...

Going back a bit, I haven't listened to any of the Pratchett books on audio. Is it as funny as it is in print? Going Postal was the first Pratchett I read and I was hooked.

I just read Going Postal and am now into Making Money. I just wrote a blog post about how damned good Pratchett is at his fantasy satire formula. Really stellar writer.

Seems a lot to ask of just one book. I suppose taking a printout of your LT author cloud would be cheating? Going Postal would probably be as good as any for me. As a slightly dog-eared aspiration, the phrase Glom of Nit seems quite apt.

5. Making Money by Terry Pratchett. This one I did not read as soon as it came out, because I had not been that fond of Going Postal, and the cast is the same. In light of recent financial developments, I thought I'd give it a try... it does not really get into finances, as such, though, more ...

I started off with Thud! (I was a later starter). I'm now reading Going Postal, which is great. I haven't read in order though I love the witches and the nightwatch so I will try to read them in order :)

# 9 Going Postal has the following quote in Chapter 1 (2nd paragraph) "The man going to be hanged had been named Moist von Lipwig by doting if unwise parents, but he was not going to embarrass the name, insofar as that was possible, by being hung under it." This I found by a Google Book S ...

... Karenina, which I loved. Really want to read War and Peace soon, but for now am reading something (much!) lighter - Going Postal by Terry Pratchett.

... I love the black covers, they are so subtle but that makes them so great. There is a purple variation on the theme (e.g. Going Postal or Monstrous Regiment) that I do not like (black is better).

MrsLee is right - just buy them all... You could start with one of the sort-of stand-alones, like Going Postal or The Amazing Maurice and his educated rodents or Small Gods.

3) Going Postal - Terry Pratchett It's only the second Discworld book I've ever read... but if they're all this hilarious, I'll be reading more. There are moments when you hit a perfectly crafted line and just have to sit there (after catching your breath from laughter) and marvel at the ...

Stephen Briggs as narrator is fantastic! I have never actually read Going Postal , but I've heard it a million or more times. The scene where Moist visits the library is especially amusing. I don't like Robinson nearly as well. Currently listening to Making Money by the way...
