I recommend Tolstoy or Dostoevsky? by George Steiner for your para-Dostoevsky reading. Tolstoy v Dostoevsky. A choice so problematic, George Steiner wrote a book about it, Tolstoy or Dostoevsky. He preferred Dostoevsky.
