FROM AMAZON: Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be... kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

So much for normal.

Teen fiction; paranormal romance/adventure. Two observations: 1. This book assumes that you have already read the first book in the series (Paranormalcy); it is not a stand-alone. 2. I liked it, but the first one was better (it was funnier, too). That said, if you sped through Paranormalcy and absolutely NEEDED to know what happens to Evie, et al, next--this is a satisfactory 2nd installment. The author's done a pretty good job with it, though I must say it is taking Evie an awful long time to figure out what she's supposed to do with her powers--what happened at the end of the first book, and the long suffering of her vamp friend, are pretty big clues to be ignored by someone who hoped to get into Georgetown. This is the second book in the series and it’s still a great story. I’m always afraid that the second or third book is just going to ruin the story for me and that I should have left good enough alone but this one is a surprise I loved this book just as much it tied some loose ends but not all of them hopefully the third book is going to be just as good. I love a good fairy, magickal creatures, vampire ect. creatures book, this one covers all the bases for supernatural beings. The only thing I will complain about just like my review for Paranormalcy is the stupid girly lost in thought covers. Evie is a hard hitting rough teenager who beats up vampires and carries a taser for a weapon. Honestly I wish they would read the book before doing the covers.
