In my Year of COVID I decided to memorize all the flags of the world. Starting was slow going but I'm presently up to over one hundred and I still very much enjoy this quirky new hobby.

The The World Encyclopedia of Flags is a companion book I purchased for a deeper dive into the colorful world of vexillology. The thing I most wanted from this book, in addition to all the gorgeous flags, was a contextual and historical summary of why a flag is the way it is. This encyclopedia has a that and so much more. I love it! ( )

This is a great book on flags of the world. The color images are accompanied by explanatory notes. The flags are grouped by geographical regions. ( )
