I don't think it annoyed me a lot, even though of course there was plenty of dominance. I think it helped that part of it was because Hawke is Sienna's superior, so it was justified. The other part is that Sienna is doing the chasing. So even though Hawke had some annoying moments it was usual purposefully provoked by Sienna. Not saying all the subliminal and not so subliminal messages are ok, but it didn't trigger me in this book. ( ) Okay, first, this cover is AWFUL. Hawke has had blue eyes and blond hair through 9 other books, and on this he's dark and brown eyed. I didn't like this relationship as much. Even despite the squick factor of Hawke & Sierra being sexually attracted and mostly okay with it even though they notice when she's a child and he's a grown man in charge of a whole community? That's a bit much. But, besides that I didn't get it. Sierra is clearly awesome. Hawke is just a dude in charge and I didn't like him as much as any of the other men in the series. no reviews | add a review
