None. Suspenseful, absolutely. I can't wait for the next book!! Realistic? Not even close. People don't survive that much even in adventure films!! ( )In some sort of weird twist in the universe of trilogies, I liked this one much better than the first. The premise is still just so... stupid. I guess I've had time to deal with the whole "love is a disease" concept and move on, which probably helped. I just loved the action in this story, too. I loved Julian as a character, I loved learning about how to live in the Wilds. Hands down better than the first. I might as well mention something that bugs me, though. If living in an encampment up North means you have to move every winter and moving is so dangerous why on earth wouldn't you just stay down South? Why keep wandering North again? This bugged me more than it should have, I'm sure, but it is my burning question. Anyway, the end of this novel is both obvious and sweet torture. Bring on Requiem! The second in the Delirium, Lena is alone in the wilds and is saved by member of the Resistance. The novel is divided into 'then' and 'now' chapter, alternating between Lena's life in the Wilds and life as an undercover operative in the city. Lena is sent to guard Julain, the son of the leader of the DFA (Deliria free America). Eventually they fall in love ...but there is a huge cliff hanger at the end!! I didn't like the story in this sequal (Delirium) as much as the first book but it is still easy to read. I am now invested in the main character and I want to continue to find out what happens in the third book. A little slow starting, but gears up and has a lot of exciting moments. Great cliffhanger. I'm glad book three is already out!
I stayed up late last night to finish Pandemonium, and now I have to wait a possible 10 FULL MONTHS to read the conclusion in Requiem! Oh, Lauren Oliver, how you torture me so!!
