Personal Response:
This story is a bit long for a story time, but could be offered in an abridged version. I like the Philippine elements mixed in to the well-known Cinderella tale: Spirit of the Forest, jewel tree, son of a chieftain.

Curricular Connections:
I would use this story as part of a story time about Cinderella tales from around the world. ( )
