This book resonates with me profoundly. It hasn't served to reinforce my existing beliefs, but rather to re-examine them. It feels dangerous but necessary and brings me to a place of "ahhh...I don't have to shun all of my curiosities in order to have genuine faith." It opens my heart to compassion and empathy rather than superiority and dogma. ( )

I absolutely loved this book...there was a sense of relief that the questions that I've wrestled with in Scripture were "OK"...this book gave me the freedom to question the Text and find that the answers are beautiful, wonderful, and oftentimes elusive!

The questions that Dickson chose to use in his book are fascinating and at times uncomfortable...and then you realize that 'in God' there truly is freedom...freedom to question, to argue, to wrestle...to be in awe...

Can't recommend this book enough! ( )

This is a thought-provoking commentary on Torah related issues. At times I wanted to throw this book through a window. After chewing on it, though, I began to open my mind to some of Dickson's ideas. ( )

I had to think my way through this book. It was recommended to me by a friend. I wanted to verbally attack him after reading some of the ideas presented in this book, until I thought things through. Some pretty big "Ah ha" moments. Don't throw it out the window until you finish it. You may just agree with what Dickson has to say. ( )
