Weighty in the literal sense. This is a large reference book. It is well done, thoughtful, well edited, and most of all useful for on-site training, an excellent resource for cultural heritage institutions (library, museum, archive, historical society), and as a text for formal education. It would be a tough sell to anyone other than serious family history researchers and professionals. ( )
