This is an important book for practitioners AND teachers (both Asian and western) as it explores the differences and convergences of Buddhist teaching and western psychotherapeutic understanding. It helps clarify the cultural differences that can lead to much suffering, mis-understanding and confusion common to many western practitioners with Asian teachers.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It provides a great service to the western practice community and I am grateful Aronson has written it! ( )
