Elise hung out with Grif almost all her life, but it was really his mother Janice who made her feel welcome. After she and Grif breakup (and he gets engaged in Love, Accidentally), it appears that Elise and Janice may be able to continue to be friends. ( ) Does she get a happy ending???? I wish there was something more to Elise's story? Is there something more to Elise's story? [a:Sarah Pekkanen|2982045|Sarah Pekkanen|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1398062471p2/2982045.jpg] please tell me you wrote a happy ending for her too!!! I think I need her to have a happy ending more than I wanted Ilsa to have her happy ending with Grif. I think I need it because she reminds me so much of me, and I haven't found my own yet! Heart wrenching and EXCELLENT. I want more! I have to agree with many of the other reviewers this book is so short I am having a hard time writing anything about it. While I cannot truly, rate the book because at 34% on my Kindle, it was complete and I was going in to other stories. Moral of the story is Elise and Griff high school lovers. Elise goes home visits nana and Griff’s mom Janice. Griff has excited new. Elise wonders if she should have stayed with Griff just to remain close to the mother. (I feel like I just copied the blurb). What I can say is while the story reached a dead end to me I think that Sarah Pekkanen is an excellent author and I will definitely read more of what she has to write. no reviews | add a review
AN ORIGINAL SHORT STORY FROM THE ACCLAIMED AUTHOR OF THE NOVELS THE OPPOSITE OF ME AND THE UPCOMING SKIPPING A BEAT . . . Thirty-year-old Elise Andrews couldn't bring herself to marry Griffin, her childhood friend turned sweetheart, so she let him walk away. Eight months after their breakup, she arrives in her hometown of Chicago on Christmas Eve and hears a voice from the past calling her name in the grocery store. It's Griffin's mother, Janice, who invites Elise over for a neighborhood gathering of eggnog and carols. Walking into Janice's house sends Elise tumbling headlong into memories of her relationship with Griffin--and with Janice, who exudes the kind of warmth Elise ached for after her own mom passed away when she was six. But Griffin has moved on, and suddenly Elise doubts her decision to give him up and lose her chance at being folded into his wonderful family. Confused and reeling, she goes in search of an answer to a universal question: How do we say good-bye to people we've loved without losing everything they've meant to us? Heartwarming and witty, All Is Bright is a charming story about coming home for the holidays--and finding gifts in the most unexpected of places. No library descriptions found. |
