"Zoey is finally home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side, and preparing to face off against Neferet--which would be a whole lot easier if the High Counsel saw the ex-High Priestess for what she really is. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx's gift of a human form, Rephaim and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together - if he can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father's shadow ... But there are new forces at work at the House of Night. An influx of humans, including Lenobia's handsome horse whisperer, threatens their precarious stability. And then there's the mysterious Aurox, a jaw-droppingly gorgeous teen boy who is actually more--or possibly less--than human. Only Neferet knows he was created to be her greatest weapon. But Zoey can sense the part of his soul that remains human, the compassion that wars with his Dark calling. And there's something strangely familiar about him ... Will Neferet's true nature be revealed before she succeeds in silencing them all? And will Zoey be able to touch Aurox's humanity in time to protect him--and everyone--from his own fate? Find out what's destined in the next thrilling chapter of the House of Night series"--… (more)

my best friend has gotten me completely hooked on this series. I have been reading them for the last week or so and I enjoy them way too much because they have become my guilty pleasure. This installment continues the story well and I can not wait to see whats next, I actually have already started 9.5. ( )

Did not finish.

It has been many years since I picked up a House of Night book and I pretty much had to force myself to get the next one because I want to finish the series. My interest was beginning to dwindle with the previous few books and after reading a chapter where the word "retard" was used multiple times with only one character very pathetically saying once "don't do that" it began to dissolve even more. Throw into the miraculous healing of the disabled trope being used shortly after that and I was done.

These issues were probably there all along, I've just grown older and as a reader I've got a TBR a mile long. I'm not going to force my time through books I won't enjoy just to wrap up an old series. ( )

destined is a good addition to the house of night series that has grown considerably better from burned onwards, this book is about trust, betrayal and learning to trust again. The change of characters keeps a good pace with the book that could be too heavy with just zoeys point of view

what i dont like about this series is that it has very little of importance to the story until the last twor or three chapters, leaving always on a cliff hanger. To me it seems like the authors are just trying to bleed their fans dry of cash and its working.

A lot of readers are complaining about this series but need to read more, clearly it isnt as bad as they are trying to make it seem, yes its mostly about teenage drama but isnt that whatg young adult books are normally about?

I admit this series could have easily been finished as a trilogy or at the most 6 books and the authors have crammed the books to fill them but i find them easy reading. And part of me has realised its very harry potter like also.

Lets hope the authors end the series with hidden which is unlikely but dragging this series out is trying their fans patience.

"3 out of 5 stars, Zoey and her friends continue on fighting against Neferet and other Dark evils ...

This novel I read in 2018 and before I could post my “official” review, that review got accidentally deleted (find out the whole story on my blog). Therefore, I leave you with the videos I created while I vlogged my reading experience of this novel (on my blog). In addition, I will say that I wish I had read this novel right after I finished “Awakened” (book 8) back in 2011 as I know I would have ..."
