An easy read and a good page turner giving a real insight into the lives of the young men who manned MTBs on the East Coast in the fight against German Navy operations in the North Sea in the Second World War. Douglas Reeman (1924-2017) knew his stuff, for he served in the Second World War in MTBs, which he called the "love of his life". ( ) This is classic Reeman. He has an amazing ability to create the atmosphere of the WW II English navy. His descriptions of naval action are exciting and realistic. Details of the vessel and the duties of each rank aboard the ship are described by someone who had been there. In fact Reeman did serve in the navy during WW II. This was his first novel and a darn good one it is. no reviews | add a review
