Loading... A Dazzling Display of Dogsby Betsy Franco
None. I loved this book. I thought this was a very creative way to get kids interested in poetry. The art flows with the poems and becomes the poems which I think is great. The artwork was very clever in the way it moved with the poems. It reminded me of love that dog but a little more cheerful and fun for children. Lively, enjoyable collection. Concrete poems. Dogs. Two of the boy's best friends. This was a really fun read. The pictures were excellent and very vivid on every page. The words aren't laid out horizontally, either, they're shaped within the pictures. All of the poems are about dogs and have a whimsical feel. This would be a fun book for children to read during a poetry unit. They can write a series of poems about the same topic, or try several different types of poems on the same topic. Betsy Franco and Michael Wertz help us journey into the minds of various dogs. We get a dog’s eye view of daily activities from finding the perfect spot to relax on the carpet to running in a wave. We even find out what it’s like for a dog to curl up with a comforting teddy bear. The poems are related to actions taken by real dogs, so we can really believe that we are perceiving the thoughts of these beloved pets. no reviews | add a review
