This book of dog-themed poetry uses innovative design techniques to incorporate the text of the poetry into the illustrations, creating a unique effect. Examples of poems include "Fast Al, the Retired Greyhound," a rhyming poem about a former racing dog and "Apollo at the Beach," which uses vivid imagery to describe a dog who chases seagulls at the beach.

Summary: Each type of dog has their own name, and quirks worked into a poem on every page.

Personal reflection: I liked all of the different types of poems, they were all very well written.

Class use: This book could teach students about different types of poetry and that poetry is not as boring as many students think. ( )

Great book to use to teach concrete poetry, which I am teaching this week and this book was super helpful! Also great for the dog lover to show the versatility of poetry.

Summary: This book is a collection of concrete poems about dogs. The art and text are completely entwined.
Review: The art is comprised of brightly colored graphics, the words are part of the picture. This is a fun read, especially for dog lovers like me.
