This is a very confusing adaptation of Walt Disney's 42nd animated feature Lilo & Stitch.
There is another book by Ladybird that was released in the same year which works far better. However, the Wonderful World of Reading version produced by Scolastics Inc. has a rather rushed feel thought. The characters are poorly introduced and the story is left with a disjointed feel as a result.
If your child remembers watching the movie they may well be able to rationalise by filling in the gaps themselves, but for a nicer adaptation of the story, I'd recommend Disney's Lilo & Stitch book of the film by Ladybird over this one.
Other than that, it does include several good illustrations of David (Nani's boyfriend) who although mentioned as part of the story is visually absent from the Ladybird version of the story for some strange reason. ( )
